Bio
Michelle Poitier is a Memphis
Tennessee native who has traveled
all over the world as the child of military parents, and later as a member of
the Armed Services herself. After
graduating from high school in Japan
and moving back to the States, she embarked upon a career in the United States
Navy and completed thirteen years of Honorable service as a cryptologist.
Michelle’s desire is to inspire hope in individuals who feel they
have no marketable skills to offer. This desire led to the creation of Future
Impressions Inc. She has been the guest on several local Jacksonville television programs, including
“It’s a New Day” hosted by Jacquelyn Olds and she has been a special guest on
“Inspiration Signs of the Times” hosted by Jeffrey McIntyre. Subsequently,
Michelle was a featured guest on the local Jacksonville, Fl radio program (WCGL 1360)
entitled “IMPACT” hosted by Yvonne Brooks. Moreover, Ms. Poitier was a guest
speaker for the local chapter of Aglow International, sharing about overcoming
life’s adversities.
Ms. Poitier is the Author of Releasing the Pain (michellepoitier.vpweb.com) and is set to publish her second book entitled Random Thoughts from
the Heart – A Collection…
Ms. Poitier relocated to the Hampton
Roads area in July 2010. She currently volunteers at S.N.V. Inc, located in Hampton, VA.
This organization assists survivors of childhood sexual abuse in developing
tools to deal with the often self-destructive behaviors that develop as a
result of their trauma.
Michelle received her Associate of Science Degree in
Business emphasis in computer science at Florida Technical
College in October 2006.
Additionally, she completed her Bachelors of Science in Business Management
with the University
of Phoenix in March 2010. Michelle is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Human Services focusing on Non-Profit Management. She has one daughter, Alexis.
